Privacy Policy

Next Move is a personal job-search tracker. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. We never sell your data.

What we collect

• Account details: your email address and, if you sign in with Google, your name. Sign-in is handled by Supabase.
• What you add: jobs, companies, salaries, interviews, notes, resources, and links you save (for example LinkedIn, Google Drive, résumé and cover-letter links).
• Hiring contacts: the name, title and public LinkedIn link of a job’s hiring manager or recruiter, when the job posting names them, when your connected AI assistant finds them in public sources, or when you add them. We don’t scrape LinkedIn; the “Find them on LinkedIn” link opens a search in your own browser.
• Emails you forward: if you send emails to your private Next Move address (or set up a filter that forwards them), we read them to add or update job cards, and keep the subject, sender and outcome of each one for 90 days so you can see what happened. We don’t keep the rest of the email, except a short excerpt in the job’s notes when there’s no job link. We only receive what you choose to forward; we never access your mailbox.
• Search preferences: target roles, locations, industries, work arrangement, minimum pay and schedule settings.
• Master documents and generated documents: if you add master résumés or sample cover letters (by Google Drive link or upload), we store the text we read from them, and the tailored résumés and cover letters we make so you can download them again. We don’t keep uploaded files themselves.
• Google Drive connection: if you connect Google Drive, we store your Google email and an encrypted access token.
• Support messages: the subject, message and reply-to email you send us.
• Usage data: Google Analytics page views and interaction events (such as “job added”), plus basic activity counts in our own database. We do not send your email, job details or message text to Google Analytics.

How we use it

• To show your job wall and keep it in sync across your devices.
• To read a job listing when you paste its link, and to research companies you ask about.
• To answer support requests.
• To understand which features are used so we can improve the product.

Connected AI assistants (Codex, ChatGPT, Claude)

If you connect Codex, ChatGPT or Claude, it can read your Next Move preferences and jobs and add suggestions or document links, only for your account and only with the permissions you approve. You can disconnect it anytime in Settings. What those assistants do with data on OpenAI’s or Anthropic’s side is covered by their own terms and privacy policies.

Free tailored résumés and cover letters

When you ask Next Move to write a résumé or cover letter, we send the master résumé you pick, the job posting and (for cover letters) your sample letter to Anthropic’s Claude API to write the draft. Uploaded PDFs are also sent to Claude once to extract their text. Anthropic processes it on our behalf under its commercial terms, which do not allow training on this data. We record how much each request costs so we can enforce the free limit. We also run a Cloudflare Turnstile check to stop bots.

If you connect Google Drive, Next Move asks only for access to files it creates (the drive.file permission). It saves each generated document to a “Next Move résumés” folder and cannot see your other Drive files. Disconnect in Settings or in your Google Account at any time. Next Move’s use of information received from Google APIs follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Where your data lives

Next Move runs on Cloudflare. Account sign-in uses Supabase. Résumé tailoring uses Anthropic. Analytics uses Google Analytics. These providers process data on our behalf and may store it outside your country.

Cookies

We use essential cookies to keep you signed in, and Google Analytics cookies (_ga) to measure usage. You can block analytics cookies in your browser or with an ad/tracker blocker; the app still works.

Your choices

• Edit or delete any job, note or link from the app at any time.
• Remove master documents or disconnect Google Drive in Settings. Files already saved to your Drive stay yours.
• Ask for a copy of your data, or for your account and all its data to be deleted, by emailing support@my-next-move.fyi. We respond within 30 days.

Security and retention

Data is sent over HTTPS and each account can only see its own jobs. We keep your data while your account is active and delete it when you ask us to.

Changes

If we change this policy in a meaningful way, we will update the date above and let active users know in the app.
